Dosage
For first 7 days of course take 1 pill (150 mg) one time per day. Consider that you have to stop smoking for this week. From the 8th day, take 1-2 pills per day until the end of course (standard day dose of bupropion is 300 mg). Make sure that the interval between intakes is more than 8 hours.
Minimal course is 21 days. Optimal one is 34 days.
Pills calculation for 21 day:
7(1 pill a day for the first 7 days) + 14*2(2 pills a day for 14 days) = 35 pills. Course can be prolonged up to 63 days if necessary.
Application method
- Swallow the tablet and wash it down with water. Don’t disperse, bite or chew the pills.
- NEVER TAKE more than 1 tablet at a time and MORE THAN 2 TABLETS in 1 day. You won’t improve your results in treatment process by overdose!
- Make sure the interval between intakes is at least 8 hours.
- Providing you don’t have any side effects, the course is 3 to 7 weeks.
- As Zyban can strengthen alcohol effect, you have to reduce use of alcohol or stop drinking it at all.
- In case of Zyban discontinuation occurred, your doctor may prescribe to reduce dosage gradually.
- In case of using other another tobacco addiction treatment therapy, please consult with your doctor or pharmaceutist.
Bupropion can be used alongside with therapy of nicotine replacement.
Important notice is that Zyban treatment should be started prior to your stopping smoking. Plan to stop smoking only after 2 weeks of its use. Stop using Zyban in case you don’t feel positive results after seven weeks of therapy.
